Shrine Newbie

Post by Altair »

I'm Julia and just joined.
I found this forum by random and was intrigued by the concept of shrines.
They look cool but am confused by what they are.
Looks like a great community. :)

Welcome Julia! Shrines are basically sites dedicated to various things. They provide information about the subject and many people go into personal depth about them and even analyze various aspects. It's really tough to say what they're about because they can be so different too. I'm sure other members can do a much better job than me at explaining what they are.

Welcome to Amassment! :D

What Crystal said is a good intro - there's also the Shrining for Newbies topic that might give you a better idea of shrines, in addition to all the members shrines we have listed at the Directory. :> It's really exciting and inspiring to see all the different shrining styles!

Hope you'll have fun browsing shrines, and if you're thinking of making your own, I'd love to see it. :>

Welcome! :D
What do you mean, by random?! Now I kinda want to know the full story, hehe.

And yeah, what Crystal and Lethe said, and the resource Lethe linked is a great starting point! :D

I hope you'll have fun :D

Welcome welcome! I'm glad you found us and joined our forum. Basically, we are all passionate fans of various things (anime, manga, TV shows, books, video games, etc.), and we make websites highlighting what we love about these things and why we are drawn to them. :D

What fandoms are you into these days? :)

Hi Julia!! :D Welcome aboard~

Everyone did a great job explaining what shrines are... they're kinda like very specific wikipedias with more opinions and details! (And often fun things too like image galleries, music, etc). :3

I hope you enjoy your stay here! :D

Hey, Julia! Crystal, Lethe and Robin pretty much summed up what shrines are, hehe. I'm glad you were curious and found yourself here! I look forward to seeing you around on the forums—and possibly your own sites in the future. :content:
