Favorite Pokemon of each type

Post by Megan A »

Hi, I made this grid for my top favorite Pokemon of each type, and I'm curious to see what your answers all are! Here's mine (Bulbasaur counts as poison, and I skipped rock/steel AT LEAST UNTIL ROCKRUFF COMES OUT HEHE)

Image

I wanna see everyone else's! I've made a grid here with all types if you want to use mine, but feel free to modify it however you'd like or even just make your own. I got all my sprites from Bulbapedia.

I answered the meme here I skipped the new ones since I know so few of them, except Mimikyu, I had to include Mimikyu. XD

I CHEATED LEFT AND RIGHT WHEN MAKING THIS BUT I TRIED OK

I first tried to set up rules like "only list pure or primary types", "if there are no Pokémon that you like of pure and primary categories, you can list a secondary type if to you, it is the dominant type that characterizes the Pokémon" BUT IT DIDN'T WORK OUT. It'd be an interesting self-study to limit yourself to pure/primary types and see what comes out on top, rather than have the grid be a representation of as many of your favourite Pokémon as possible, but I can't do it when not forced to!!!!

This in particular:
  • Amura is primary rock and not ice??
  • Jirachi is primary steel and not psychic??
  • Half the fairy types are a sham because I went all my life associating them primarily with other types until fairy was retroactively applied!! (I love the retroactive application and the type itself ok. But I'm so obviously cheating with Jigglypuff up there so I could fit in Azurill!!)
  • I have 12319238013 favourite grass, water and ice (and also normal) types, my heart broke in making this!! (You can tell by the cheating that was done to fit in those types in the grid.)
Also, everyone who did this on Twitter - you should post your grid here on the forums so everyone can snoop and compare!  :star: :star: :!: We should totally see who has a) the least amount of Eeveelutions b) the least amount of legendaries in their grid!

The fact I could not find a way to include Gardevoir in here somewhere (given that I cheated already cough) is very upsetting since she's my second fav, sob.

(sorry for horrible image quality, my Photoshop apparently hates PNG format right now for some reason)

Some of these were super hard because I haven't played much Pokemon in yearrrssssss, but I still found a representative of each type (even if it was a secondary type, in some cases, xD #cheating). Also, I found some new fav Pokemon along the way! (Meloetta - Pirouette Form, Liepard, Aurorus)

FEAROW AND SKARMORY WERE TOO BIG LOL

and Lethe I hear you so much on the whole first type, second type, fucked up type, retroactive typing, JUST...SCREW IT ALL, SCREW YOU POKEMON TYPES YOU NEVER MAKE ANY SENSE (sobs)

Also, last year I took part in the Pokeddexy and so I drew all of my favorite Pokemon of each type each day of December, and since there are a few extra slots for things like legendaries etc. the result was slightly different than this. Anyway here's the shameless plug :P

I've seen some of these but not all of them because it didn't occur to me to look up the tag itself. I love these, and your approach to drawing them was so varied!!!! Not surprised at the amount of majestic birds. And these two GOSH, several favourites we have in common! I want to smooch and chew on them all.

I know right?? So adorable! I finally settled on Bellossom because it's kinda like a flowery belly dancer/hula dancer and also adorbs, but Hoppip is so very cute too :D

I was torn between Hopip and Deerling for my grass type but that pink deer is just perfect, I'm sorry. Also, I cheated, because there are some types where I don't have a favorite at all so I left them out, but then there are others where I have too many favorites!
