Yup, but it's a series of 4 x 50 minute movies so there is a long wait between episodes. While the first is out and fansubbed now, the second has only just been announced for a Spring 2013 theatre release. Looooong wait.Eden wrote:There's a new Geass series? I didn't know this at all. :O

If the immortal green haired girl isn't there I might want to watch it...
Re: Currently watching....?
C.C. isn't in the first episode, but she is shown in the preview for the second (along with Suzaku). Given the storyline overlaps with existing events in Geass canon, it makes sense that they would appear at some point (particularly Suzaku).Mikari wrote:If the immortal green haired girl isn't there I might want to watch it...

C.C. is a brilliant character, she's one of my favorites. I hope she appears at some point. :)Mikari wrote:If the immortal green haired girl isn't there I might want to watch it...

Re: Currently watching....?
I don't like how she's so indestructible. Immortal characters take away from the series IMO. If it overlaps then that means the hopes of an independent/different series Geass style is gone. D: Oh well I have other series I could watch.
Re: Currently watching....?
After watching the first episode I feel it is certainly trying to have its own slightly darker tone. It also focuses primarily on the less glamorous side of the war. It's hardly 08th MS team in terms of highlighting the perils of being a grunt in a mecha war, but it's not exactly on the level of LOL SPINZAKU HURR DURR GEASS JUPITER AND KILL YOUR PARENTS.Mikari wrote:I don't like how she's so indestructible. Y'know, yet anyway.
Re: Currently watching....?
You're looking too much on the outside of her character. She might be physically indestructible but her persona is much more expansive than just being an immortal. There's a lot more to her than that and she doesn't take away from the show at all. Depending on the immortal, they're more often prisoners of life and have no way of dying and becoming truly free, unless they become immortal on their own terms. But I feel C.C. can be destroyed in different ways and I'm not talking about her living forever. But that's going off topic so.. I'll just leave it at that.Mikari wrote:I don't like how she's so indestructible. Immortal characters take away from the series IMO. How does trilling R's = Hispanic? Hispanic is a racial ethnicity, not a language.Eden wrote:Maybe it got lost in translation? Unless you make the characters sound Hispanic...otherwise it might have sounded awkward. Regardless, I liked PSG because it doesn't take itself seriously and is hella funny. I'm not a fan of the f-bombs since I find it unnecessary but otherwise didn't bother me.Joe wrote:Like Eden said, the English dub isn't bad, though they did take freedom with some of the dialogue. Plus, there's hella f-bombs dropped everywhere. :D What I was disappointed with, though, is how the Demon Sisters don't trill their R's with their trademark, "RRRRRRUURRRRU." I think they should have kept that, but I guess maybe some of the voice cast didn't know how to trill their R's.... (but America's near Mexico, so there's gotta be some Spanish speakers who can do that!!)Aa-chan wrote:I'm rewatching Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, myself. :3 Awesome series. I'm tempted to buy the DVD set of PSG, mostly because I want to see how "bad" the English dub is... >_>;
I wouldn't count that as something lost in translation. It's one of the biggest charms of the show and I feel that the producers of the dub purposely didn't include it do to speech difficulty or that they didn't like it.
BTW This topic is a sticky now.
Re: Currently watching....?
I think it means a hispanic accent.
Spain spanish and latin spanish dubs do vary in all the cases I've seen, but that's another story.
I might just rewatch Puella Magi too, awesome series.

Re: Currently watching....?
Yeah, but Hispanic is a panethnic group and not all people who classify themselves as Hispanic speak Spanish the same way or with the same accents. And I think you're missing the point of my comment. I didn't mention anything about Spanish dubs at all.Mikari wrote:I think it means a hispanic accent.

You can BE Hispanic but you can't speak Hispanic. Does that make sense?
