So I still end up using a stencil. I find its easier to do some basic sections then expand later if I need it.
Although I do quite enjoy editing and revising.
You should have seen how many times I edited and revised Butterfly (Yuuko's shrine) - which is again going under complete revamp soon - still need to add stuff =)))
Even if I do try put stencils, I change my ideas of content so many times that in the end, I don't know why bother =)

Saya, editing and revising shows how much we care! I mean, we spend so much time trying to explain out causes. I think its a good thing. A lot of people find it easier to edit and revise versus writing the initial piece. (I totally need to go through Butterfly, I adore Yuuko!)
I have a hard time with outlines and wire frames that way. I try to stick to an idea and then decide I like other things better. But, the basic idea still fits into the stencil. I prefer just "going with the flow" and sometimes I don't realize that I have a stencil for it. :3 Either way, whatever is comfortable for you is the best.

Yuuko's shrine evolved quite a lot from the moment I started it, it's my first baby, I started shrining with that shrine.
Same here, probably I have stencils but I don't even notice =)

I love Butterfly, Saya. It's such a good shrine and I love how it's changed over time and how you worked a lot on it.
I don't think the stencils/templates are a bad thing. I am starting to think it's a subconscious thing that we do, it's like a personal organization or writing style. I just want to break out of how I currently organize or write some of my shrines so it got me to thinking on this topic.

I think I do a little bit but I'm working on a different approach with my Shiki shine (just because I want to make it kinda smallish).

I go with Information and Media. I don't have any. I work on based on the amount of subjects I have to write.
