I do too--mainly I miss how they could blend in with a page. The coding behind it was always kinda wonky, but it made pretty sites ^_^

I remember making the scrollbar invisible and layering gifs under it to that it had blinking arrows XD

YES. It's all NOSTALGIA up in here~~~ :D
Oh, and how could I forget--transparent iframes floating over HUGE background images, because it looked COOL (and made updating layouts hella easier).

Also multiple iframes on the same page for even MOAR updatability (and screen-crowding xD). And...oh, frames in general. (I never could make frames look good--always ended up too boxy and obvious.)
I'm kinda surprised animated GIFs have made a comeback, to be honest, but I think we can thank Tumblr for that. LOLOL

Yeah tumblr is probably the biggest site for gifs now. Twitter and Vine have many too.
