I also chose Froakie. Then at Lumiose I chose Squirtle. ^-^ I had Chimchar in Pearl and Oshawot in Black. I prefer water starters.

Froakie here too! I also have Pidgey, Ralts, Litleo, and Bulbasaur in my party. I love this being able to get older Pokemon in the game also. It's awesome! <3

Me too. Even though I have mostly new ones in my party but I like getting the older ones. Eevee can be caught on Route 10.

I got my Eevee too! Little surprise I evolved it into a Flareon. <3333 I also have a full party now which includes Frogadier, Pidgeotto, Gardevoir, Ivysaur, Absol, and Flareon.

I'm absolutely loving the Pokemon Ame feature in X/Y. Being able to interact and play games with my Pokemon is awesome! I haven't tried the other one out yet, but I should give it a shot anyway.

Snow: It's cool, though I don't know when I'll stop having an instinctual WTF reaction at seeing wild Eevees and Wartortles. XD

Yeah, it looks like megas are completely optional. I'm getting the sense they've learned from the gen 4 evolution flop, and they've made things that build on previous Pokémon optional so people don't have to scream too much about ruining their favorites and so on. I am weirded out by the choice of Pokémon who got megas though - I've heard that they picked them based on popularity, and okay, I can see how that would lead to Mewtwo and Charizard and Lucario, but then some others are...some of the least popular Pokémon ever? Are they honestly under the impression that Kangaskhan,
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Pinsir and Medicham
are popular?????

Crystal: The Pokémon Amie IS adorable! When I first heard about it I was a bit grossed out because I thought that if every Pokémon does the same face as Pikachu did in the trailers this is basically going to become a porn game D: D: D: I'm glad to see that's not the case at all, and that different Pokémon have different ways of being happy and sad. Some are hilarious. I might have made Pokémon intentionally sad just to laugh at their dejected expressions...

Hey guys, hey guys, which ones in this generation are your favorites?? :D

Agreed! Absol and Flareon make me squee every time they're happy. I also love how my Pokemon will gain boosted experience too when using Pokemon Amie. It's nice. I'm also totally in love with the yarn mini game. xD Only thing I don't like is talking with my Pokemon has a tendency to crash my game. D:

I haven't played much with the new Pokemon as my party basically consists of Generation I and III Pokemon but I absolutely adore Froakie and all its evolved forms.

Something I am wondering though... Is mega evolution permanent or does it last for the duration of the battle? If it's permanent I might avoid using it on Absol and Gardevoir...

It crashes your game?! That's a new one... D:

Ah, it's battle-only, so fear not. :)

Dubs: THANK YOU for your spoiler note. Because I was totally thinking that too. Gengar has a mega form as does
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Aerodactyl and Abomasnow
. Some I was surprised about..I don't know if it has anything to do with "popularity". I have no idea what really determines the mega evolutions, as they gave away a promotional Torchic that can also go mega. Never fond of Torchic, to be honest, but that's just me.

Crystal: I haven't tried talking to my Pokemon yet! Been sick have little voice. xD Mega evolution is battle only and then your mon changes back. :D

Let's see, I really like Espurr and Meowstic (I really like psychic types); they're supposed to have different move set depending on gender but I only noticed two move difference in levels comparatively to 40. When I hunt pokemon I train a new generation traded from Cherri to get an idea of they're like and they get bonus experience.

I also like Fennekin and it's evolutions. I've also tried the Steel/Ghost Honedge and Doublade, they seem like they'd be very good pokemon; not sure how I feel about it overall though. I'm really fond of Dragon/Rock Tyrunt and it's evolutions too! I've been using him in battle and I love him. I'll be honest, I just love T-rex. ;w;

I'm not sure how I feel about fairy-type at all. It's an interesting concept, I think. But I'm...not sure I like it messing with the type changes and ruining everything I know. The only one I've tried using, though, is Sylveon since I was trying to get Eevee evolutions; so he's not very high level.
My dear, the truth is simple. We're all mad here.

@Dubiousdisc: Yeah I've had it crash my game 3 times so far so I make sure I save every time I feed and pet my Pokemon to avoid loosing a lot of progress.

@Dubiousdisc & Snow: Yay! In that case I may actually use it on my eligible Pokemon when I get the stones required for them.

Snow:
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Aerodactyl
IS somewhat popular, but
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Abomasnow
just...isn't. I don't know, that was the rumor I had heard, but I'm really doubting that's the case - I think they just picked stuff THEY liked, while throwing a few bones to the fandom.

My problem with the Fairy type is - it doesn't make sense, just like the Dragon type. What even IS a fairy? Why is Mr. Mime Psychic/Fairy? Why is Jigglypuff half Fairy and Clefairy all Fairy? Is it just because of the name? Why is Flabébé not half Grass too? I...I don't get it...I mean, I understand that it's kinda like the Light type so it can go Psychic as neutral magic, Dark as black magic and Fairy as white magic, but then fairies seem to be Pokémon that are described as mischievous and so on and...I DON'T GET IT and it confuses me. Someone explain the Fairy type to me!

Crystal: How odd! I had not heard of that happening to anyone else D:

About favorites...I'm really liking
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Goomy, Noibat, Pumpkaboo and Hawlucha the most. I also really like Heliolisk's sun frill, I liked the idea behind Helioptile but I thought it didn't really show in the design, I'm glad to see that Heliolisk does it better. :D
