Oh, hunters. I always seem to get into one-on-one fights with hunters in battlegrounds, so I'd like to play one again sometime. (My first toon was a hunter, back when hunters still used mana) I think I just really enjoy the melee aspect of death knights. You're right there in the middle of things and it's messy and FUN. It got really funny when I managed to get nice PVP gear and people didn't shred through my armor like it was tissue paper. That gear is obviously outdated now. D:

And yeah, PVP can be stressful and it makes me rage so hard sometimes, although I honestly rage more at people being assholes in the chat rather than because Alliance is losing. I have been known to yell "KILL THE GODDAMN HEALER!!!!!" though. Seriously people, KILL THE HEALER.

Paladins also look quite fun. I've never played one beyond level 20, though.

I've never played World of Warcraft, but I've been seeing the Mists of Pandaria commercials lately and that looks really cool. :O I'm definitely interested in it now!

Ugh, I know what you mean Emma. D: No one kills the friggin healer. >:O But if I'm healing I get attacked all at once a good deal of the time. But it amuses me when they can't kill me. 8D Paladins and hunters are fun. :D I'd recommend you give them a try sometime.

Also mana < focus. I love the introduction of focus for hunters. Mana was such a pain. Although hunters are also having to need expertise which is weird. x.x

Sarah I am so friggin excited for Mists of Pandaria that it isn't funny. Everything I've seen for it looks awesome. I just wish I could have been able to play beta. :( Oh well. One more week. >.<

Every time someone mentions WoW I always think of this video. With that said, I don't play MMORPGs because of hardware issues and my friends told me it's like selling my own soul to the devil because it ate up their lives. I actually trust them on this because I know I'll get addicted to leveling up my characters.

I don't like the pay per month part. I might play 24/7 the first week, then not at all. I do have psp games I like that I haven't played in days due to being caught up on sites and Fics. Plus I don't want to have to start another subscription if I stop playing a few months and want to play again.

Any MMORPGs give me a bad taste in my mouth and go against every game ethic I've ever had. I don't like their pay-to-play schemes, paying real money for virtual cosmetics and some games even get to buy weapons so it's pay-to-win deal, making it very unfair to others. I've even had someone so desperate for some sort of giant animal thing (they get it with bringing new people to the game?) they said they'd pay for my subscription just to get it... it was embarrassing and I felt bad that they were so desperate.

Like Jo's friends, I've known a lot of my boyfriend's friends to basically drop him like a hat because they got so wrapped up in the games they ignored real life. They really did try to maintain a balance, but in the end, the game won and their grades/socialization suffered. I get scared for anyone I know to start getting into the world of MMOs to the point of it being unhealthy. I've never witnessed anyone maintain balance between an MMO and life. It's all they ever talk about... :(

I don't really make any friends online because most of them are into LoL, WoW, or some other MMO and hardly have the yearn to actually socialize outside their guilds/servers. I really wish these things weren't so addicting.

I don't hate the people, I hate the ethics of the game. If you can find a balance between the two Crystal, I really admire that dedication to stay away from addiction.

Oh Wow... I'm clean for about 4 years now :)
I used to play a druid in old Azeroth in during Burnign Crusade. I had a little Gnome Warrior, too and I was the first to do random Molten Core on my realm, which was quite fun. I once even lead my own guild during Burning Crusade but I really didn't like how the human behavior gets so "animalistic" (I really can't come up with a good word, haha) in these kind of games. I really enjoyed playing with friendly people and just having a great time. I never played for any epics in general, since I knew they weren't worth anything just a few weeks later. In the end most poeple I met were real egoists and only cared about theirselfs, it rarely felt like a team, although in the early WOW time you really had to be a team to get further.

It was also way annoying when people found out I'm a girl. What the hell? Only the fact that I'm lacking the Y chromosome seemed to turn them on, without knowing anything about me. It really creeped me out a lot but made me realize how bad some people actually are that distracted from real life, I bet they fell in love with my beautiful Nightelf, haha :)

I sometimes think about the game and a friend of mine who is working for blizzard asked me a couple of times if I want to try out a beta for a new expansion kid, but I quit just a short time before graduating from high school and I'm really glad about it, because I wouldn't have time for this kind of game nowadays. My grades weren't affected by my massive online hours, I actually even felt that I've learned a lot during that time, especially during the time as a guild leader, because I had to earn some respect first in this cruel male dominated world (of warcraft) :p

I could probably quit WoW if I wanted to but seeing as I have nothing else to fill my time with I don't. I don't mind the pay-per-month thing either, because I have nothing else to spend my money on. xD I mainly play it for fun but I also have lots of people I hang out with and talk to on it as well. Although I won't lie that I have the game open 99% of the time when my computer is on. A lot of the time I'll end up tabbing out and work on a website. xD

It is sad though that some people can get so caught up in the game -- or any mmo for that matter -- that they pretty much loose their souls or whatever to it.

@tox: Yeahhh, I had a bout with a guy about that one time. There are a lot of females in the guild I'm currently in though so it isn't such a big deal that I'm a female player. In lots of runs though I end up getting called a guy because of the assumption that girls don't play WoW. >.>;

Ironically, even if I don't play WoW myself, it doesn't bother me when other people spend most of their lives on it. I'm willing to listen to anyone rant for ages about any game they like, even if I don't know it. I like gamers in general and can relate to people with time consuming passtimes, though my web-designing and fanfic writing is free and I still go to work, eat and sleep, but that's not the point.

I guess I like fun-centric people. It's such a nice change from serious workaholics that don't care about anything except their job, socializing and family responsibilities (aka the boring stuff) that's not what I want to hear about. I'll listen forever about fun (any game, any series, any movie), even if I don't understand 90% of it, I'll lend an ear and pay attention and try to understand just because it's nice and refreshing to see someone excited about fun rather than fussing about their job or their boyfriend/girlfriend or their kid.

Really though, One of these days when I get a better connection that's not pay per data, I want to try out a free go at WoW, but I'll make sure not to have any projects to distract me so I can gt the most out of it because I have no intentions of paying a monthly fee when I have so much free entertainment online anyway.

@Crystal
I think WoW got mor eattractive to girls over the years and maybe it's also different in other countries. Here in Germany it was definitely a guy thing and they would rant about how girls aren't good gamers all day. I still remember one situation when a guy started "flaming" me ingame out of a sudden. Called me a sob until I politely told him I'm a girl. He would then start to apologize and that he normally isn't such a jerk... it was hilarious. I also was once kicked out of a Teamspeak channel because one guy thought I'm a 13 year old boy who didn't have his vocal change yet... it was funny when they tried to be nice afterwards, haha :)
